A Regal Genealogy of the Descent of Cousins, such as King James I of England and Queen Elizabeth II

1.       King James IV of Scotland (d. 1513) m. Margaret (d. 1541) (common ancestor and my x13 grandfather and grandmother) – William Dunbar wrote “The Thistle and the Rose” to commemorate James’ wedding.  He also builds “Great Michael,” the largest ship yet.
2.       King James V (d. 1542) (great uncle) m. Mary of Guise (d. 1560)
3.       Mary, Queen of Scots, and Queen of France (d. 1587) (1st cousin) m. Henry lord Darnley (d. 1567)
4.       King James [VI of Scotland, I of England] (1566-1625) (2nd cousin) m. Anne of Denmark (1574-1519) – King James authorized King James Bible 1611.  He compiled “Doemonologie” which railed against witchcraft and Satanism.  In 1599 he produced, “Basilikon Doron” which espoused the divine right of kings.
5.       Elizabeth (1596-1662) (3rd cousin) m. Fredrick king of Bohemia (1596-1632)
6.       Sophia (1630-1714) (4th cousin) m Earnest Augustus elector of Hanover (1629-98)
7.       King George I of Great Britain and Ireland, duke and elector of Hanover (1660-1727) (5th cousin) m. Sophia Dorothea (1666-1726) – George Fredrick Handel composed “Water Music” for him.  Jonathan Swift wrote “Gulliver’s Travels,” which lampooned him.
8.       King George II of Great Britain and Ireland, duke and elector of Hanover, (1683-1760) (6th cousin) m. Caroline of Ansbach (1783-1737)
9.       Fredrick Louis prince of Wales (1707-51) (7th cousin) m. Augusta (1719-72)
10.   King George III of Britain, Ireland, and France, duke and elector of Hanover, “Farmer George” (1738-1820) (8th cousin) m. Charlotte of Mecklenburg – King George ruled over the 13 American Colonies until this monarch lost power during the American Revolution.
11.   Edward duke of Kent (1767-1820) (9th cousin) m. Victoria of Saxe-Coburg (1786-1861)
12.   Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, empress of India (1819-1901) (10th cousin) m. Albert of Saxe-Coburg (1819-1861)
13.   King Edward VII of Great Britain and Ireland, emperor of India (1841-1910) (11th cousin) m. Alexandra of Denmark (1844-1925)
14.   King George V of Great Britain and Ireland (1865-1936) (12th cousin) m. Mary of Teck (1867-1953)
15.   King George VI of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, emperor of India (1895-1952) (13th cousin) m. Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (1900-2002)

  1. This is so fantastic. Too bad that it almost certainly isn't true. I am genetically not related to these people according to the evidence that I paid for.
