Family Tree DNA Inc.: My Intent In Research My Y Chromosomal DNA
For almost certain, my line goes back to Jacob Hamilton of Perry County, PA who went on record as a tax payer in his 30s, and is the author of this blog's thrice great grandfather. As a rumor in my family, when I was young I heard that we probably go back to nobles. Thus, my intention is to link my DNA to the aristocratic Hamilton Clan of Scotland. My search of Perry County, PA led me to other Hamilton's of the same area, which are rumored to descend from Claude Hamilton, 1st Lord Paisley. That connection matches the family rumor that I heard while I was at my paternal grandfather's house. Additionally, it might be worthy to mention that my paternal grandfather, Harry Albert Hamilton of Natrona Heights, is noted to have several patents attributed to him.
