**According to record, Jacob Hamilton did not have parents.  However, he did.  He was in fact born David Hamilton to Sgt. John O. Hamilton and Elizabeth Forster (Foster), and later changed his name to Jacob Hamilton.  The 4 reasons I say this are (first 1-3, than later 4):
Reason #1.  David/Jacob had three children with the same names.
Reason #2.  David/Jacob both lived in Perry Co. Pennsylvania.
Reason #3.  Where David disappears from record, Jacob enters record, old enough that he should have already paid taxes by his age, but with no record of having been born at all.  This was also a time when many Americans where complaining to the British who then owned America that the British where giving taxation without representation.

Catherine Weirick (1812 - 1858)

Born in Liverpool, Perry, Pennsylvania, USA on 15 Aug 1812 to Christian Weirick and Anna Maria Hauer. Catherine married Jacob Hamilton and had 13 children. She passed away on 8 Aug 1858 in Liverpool, Perry, Pennsylvania, USA.

Reason #4.   Note: In the above, the record shows that the date of David's birth is uncertain, as well as the name of his wife, and in addition the date of his death is uncertain.

________________________________________________________________________________

Note:  Elizabeth, Levi, and John where children with names in common with the parents named Jacob Hamilton and David Hamilton.  That is one connection of these individuals, albeit not a strong one because these are very common names.  However, it should not be overlooked if one wants to consider all the possibilities, meaning this alone isn't strong evidence, but when combined with other evidence such as Jacob's age when he first started paying taxes

  1. Jacob Hamilton who appears from nowhere around the beginning of the USA is where I began my ancestral journey. Perhaps, he and I are related.
